I've been sitting here staring at a blank blog page for at least ten minutes, and I can't think of anything to post. So, in order to keep LastOneHere happy, I have dug into IM logs I keep with another friend, and decided that tonight's blog topic will be "sky".

Puzzles

One of my best friends has developed a thing for Sudoku (sp?) puzzles, which are the latest craze. They're not my favorite puzzles, but I don't mind doing them. I like Wuzzles, and I really like the crypto-gram puzzles. I also adore jigsaw puzzles, but I lack the space to do them in. I also like crossword puzzles, and word searches. A couple weeks ago, I found a book of hidden message word searches, where all of the letters that aren't used compose a famous saying. Very cool!

For me, the most important trait a friend can have is loyalty. Most of my closest friends have drifted in and out of my life, yet I know that these are the friends I can call on in an emergency.

Example:

Nearly six years ago, the person I considered my "best friend" had an affair with my husband. Or he had an affair with her. Whatever. We didn't talk for four and a half years, but when Stan walked out on me, she was the first person I called. She and her husband were over that SAME NIGHT to help me change the locks. That's loyalty. And a true friend.

Why men chase women

A few weeks ago, I asked EDog why men chase women they have no intention of marrying.

I now know the answer:

For the same reason that dogs chase cars they have no intention of driving.

Since my post titled Oedipus vs. Marie, I've become extremely interested in Tarot, and how it works. I've talked to people about it, but haven't quite gotten around to having another reading done. Anyway, the most important thing that I've discovered it that it's my energy that goes into the cards. If I wasn't even there, how valid can the reading have been? My assertation: not very. Consequently, I will no longer let that bother me. I'm learning how to get rid of that stuff. It really feels good to be able to do so.

A change of pace

I'm hearing complaints that my poetry is too sad. I asked the person who made the most recent complaint for a topic. I was given "lust." In under five minutes, this is my first draft.

It’s Friday again.
I feel the heat rise within.

Just a few more hours
And the night will be ours.

Anticipating, I drive
Waiting for the moment to arrive

Next to me
I feel your heat rise too.

Wanting, aching, begging, sweating, pulsing, pounding, moaning, coming.

Lusting.

2006 Race for the Cure

Dear Friends and Family,

I recently accepted the challenge to raise funds to support the 2006 Komen Denver Race for the Cure® on October 8, 2006 in the fight against breast cancer. One in eight women will be stricken with breast cancer in her lifetime and the more we raise, the more the Denver Affiliate of the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation can give back to fund vital breast cancer education, screening and treatment programs in our own community and support the national search for a cure.

Last year, the Denver Affiliate raised and awarded $2.6 million to breast cancer and breast health programs. In addition, the Affiliate awarded $1 million to international and national breast cancer research. One day we will find a cure, but for now, the need is great.
